Townhouse

Last night, I finally tried Townhouse in Sherman Oaks. It's located in the Galleria and since I'm a Valley Girl, I like totally hang out at the Galleria. Like fer sure! (Okay, not really.) The Galleria now a days pretty much has some corporate restaurants and the Arclight. If you know me... you know I don't do corporate. If they have a good happy hour, I MAY make an exception. So when I heard that all of Townhouse's specialty cocktails are only $5, my ears perked up and we hopped on over.

So we walked in and yeah it was corporate, but I still liked the feel. It had a big bar... dark wood.... yeah I liked it. We sat down at the bar and checked out the specialty cocktails, and we were impressed that all 13 cocktails are offered for only $5 at happy hour. My favorites of the night were the Whiskey Peach and Fire & Ice Martini. But if you don't like cocktails, beer and wine is also offered during happy hour and they have a really big selection of both. Any wine that is normally $10 or less is $5 for happy hour, and all their beers are $4.

All specialty cocktails are $5

WHISKEY PEACH
(my favorite)
Knob Creek, Monin Peach
Puree, fresh lime

FIRE & ICE MARTINI
Absolut Ruby Red vodka,
jalapeno, fresh lemon
(They tend to serve it on
the not-so-spicy side, so
tell them you want it with
a good kick!)

DIRTY CEO MARTINI
Chopin Vodka, olive juice,
served with blue cheese
stuffed olives (nice!)

CUCUMBER MARTINI
Smifnoff Melon Vodka,
muddle cuccumber. fresh lime

For food, Townhouse offers certain small plates for $5. Unfortunately, there is nothing on the menu that tells you which ones, so you have to ask your server. Kinda a pain, right!? But our bartender, Britney, was extremely helpful and filled us in. Some of their happy hour food includes Calamari, Red Pepper Hummus, Steak Quesadilla, Buffalo Chicken Tenders, Pork Belly Sliders, a Cheeseburger with Applewood smoked bacon, and four different flat breads. And if you are a vegetarian, there are some good choices for you. We went with the Steak Quesadilla and the Pork Belly Sliders. We were quite pleased with the size of both, especially for $5. The Sliders were okay. They were a bit on the dry side and didn't have any sauce, but they did come with a side of onion rings that were delicious. The Steak Quesadilla was definitely our favorite. It was topped with a chipotle sour cream and it also came with a tasty avocado-mango salsa. So between the two of us, we were definitely full for just $5 each. NICE!! ***After review update: many readers have told me they love the hummus and flatbreads!! Good tip!

 Steak Quesadilla - $5

Pork Belly Sliders - $5

Our bartenders, Britney and Trevor, definitely provided good service and were very friendly. I would definitely go back and try some other small plates. Britney said the Hummus is extremely popular. So if you are at the Galleria and are going to the Arclight to see a movie, you have to go to happy hour at the Townhouse first! No question about it!!! Oh! And they have a late night happy hour every night but Sunday starting at 11pm, so you could even go after you movie!

  1. The Townhouse has a GREAT happy hour! I agree, they should mark which small plates are not included, but the food is goooood!!! The hummus and flatbreads are my favorite. My husband and I come here for food and drinks before the movies and we get a great meal at a great price. Much better than waiting for a seat @ Cheesecake Factory!
