I'm not a fancy writer... just a girl that likes a good drink.

La Boheme

Well the sunshine is back in L.A., so time for a little happy hour outside! La Boheme is perfect for that.  In the front of the restaurant, there is a very small patio but go through the restaurant and you'll find a lovely patio containing lots of greenery, twinkle lights, a fountain, and a fireplace. Now I have had La Boheme on my extensive list of "happy hours to try" because they have a great happy hour menu on their website, but I didn't realize what a nice patio they had. We were quite pleased.
The happy hour menu consists of beer, wine, well drinks, and sangria for $4-5.  Our server also listed off a few mixed drinks for $5. I went with a fruit infused vodka cocktail called Infusion. It was perfect for the hot day. I followed that with a martini from their 777 Martini Menu. They offer 7 martinis, 7 days a week for just $7. Nice, huh!?! I choose the Cucumber Martini. It's a cucumber infused vodka with a splash of sweet and sour. It was strong, but I've had better Cucumber Martinis.

Along with the drinks, La Boheme offers a great selection of food. During happy hour, all small plates (called Fun Bites) and sandwiches are half off, which comes to $3-6 for the small plates, $7-11 for the Charcuterie & Cheese platters, and $5-8 for the sandwiches or burger. Quite the deal!

We opted for the Wagyu Beef Sliders, Filet Mignon Tacos, and the Four Cheese Mac & Cheese.  My favorite of the three were the Sliders. They were juicy and the caramelized onions were a perfect touch. The filet mignon in the tacos had good flavor but could have been cooked maybe a minute less. The Mac & Cheese was decent, but the portion was huge. I thought the prices were really good for the size of the portions and for where we were. Other items on the happy hour menu were Steamed Mussels ($5), Lamb Skewers ($5), Crab Cake ($4), Bacon Wrapped Dates ($3), and more. You can find their complete happy hour menu on their website.

Four Cheese Mac & Cheese $4

Everything about our experience was great... right down to the service. Our server, Kevin, was helpful and extremely nice. The manager also dropped by our table to make sure we were happy with our food and drinks. I would definitely recommend La Boheme if you are looking for a great happy hour complete with great prices, great service, and a beautiful outdoor setting.
